Welcome to the Quaterdeck Restaurant's home page. We offer great American and seafood cuisine at reasonable prices in a relaxed atmosphere. When in season, our specialty is freshly steamed Maryland blue crabs - but we're open year round, with great steaks, burgers, pizza, and other seafood, including crab cakes and dungeness crab legs. Crabs!
Seasons
As a rule of thumb, Chesapeake Bay blue crabs are in season from around mid-April until around mid-October (tax day to Columbus Day).
To ensure that you get only the best steamed crabs, it is our policy to serve steamed crabs only when local crabs are in season.
2010 Chesapeake Bay blue crab season has begun!
We are starting to get crab shipments from our suppliers. Delivery status is day-to-day, so be certain to call ahead for availability. And, by all means, make reservations!
Sizes
We serve crabs by the half-dozen and dozen in four size categories: Regular, Medium, Large, and Jumbo.
Our Crab Feast Policy
We serve our "Feast" size steamed crabs - the smallest ones we carry - on an all-you-can-eat basis. However, if you opt for Feast crabs, all members of your party must participate in the Feast. If not all people in your party would care to eat crabs, please feel free to order our sized crabs by the half-dozen or dozen.
Reservations
Out of Season
You don't need reservations during the colder months. However, if you have a party of eight or more, or you have a special need (such as a birthday party), please call ahead so we can prepare and ensure you have a great time.
In Season
When blue crabs are in season, evening reservations are strongly encouraged. Lunch reservations for crabs are also strongly encouraged.
On a given day, we stop taking phone reservations for that evening's dinner at six p.m.; our last seating is several hours after that.
When you call please let us know:
- your name and phone number;
- how many people will be in your party;
- whether you prefer indoor or outdoor seating;
- what time you would like to eat;
- and either
- the number and sizes of crabs you'd like, or
- if your party will be eating the crab feast (please refer to our crab feast policy above).
